Introduction

This guide is applicable to BEL 290 tape or hot melt sealers.

  1. Do not manually feed cases. Doing so will bring you in close proximity to moving components that may cause serious injury.
    • Do not manually feed cases. Doing so will bring you in close proximity to moving components that may cause serious injury.

    • Do not use gravity feeding. The BEL 290 requires at least 1" of space between each case to ensure good case seals and prevent case jams.

    • Cases should be fed into the BEL290 via a powered infeed conveyor.

    • We recommended that the conveyor speed is set at 60 FPM (feet per minute). Slower or faster speeds may cause improper case seals or case jams.

  2. Level the conveyor and align it horizontally with the sealer.
    • Level the conveyor and align it horizontally with the sealer.

    • The case should transfer smoothly, remaining horizontal and without angling up or down.

    • If the case level and angle are wrong when entering the sealer, it may cause taping problems or jams.
