Keep framework and case former section guide rail for the movable ‘tower’ folder clean of dirt build-up, grease and oil residues.

Inspect the conveyor belts for wear.

Inspect for worn or broken electrical connections.

Check for worn or broken air lines and connections.

If supplied, check that all casters are in the locked position.

Cycle case height, width and length adjustments and check for binding.

Clean and lightly lubricate the tower folder guide rail with a food-grade grease (JAX Magna-Plate 44-2 from Behnke Lubricants, or equivalent), a synthetic Teflon grease (Loctite – Super Lube) or appropriate equivalent.

Check Major Flap Folding Plates and Skate Wheels for damage; clean as required.

Inspect case hold-down rollers (Red) #25-547. Replace if worn or damaged.

Inspect the drive belts for proper belt tension and belt tracking. Refer to Service and Maintenance Procedures. Note: Correct tension and tracking will prolong belt and drive bearing life.

Lubricate the Uni-Drive side-belt drive chain and the width adjustment roller chain with a Moly-type spray chain lube.

Inspect the electric motor and gearbox for evidence of oil leakage, noise or vibration and keep unit free of dirt; excess accumulation of dirt or grease will affect the proper cooling of the units.

Inspect all pneumatic cylinders and connections for worn or broken parts.

Inspect the Vertical Guide Tracks (bottom major flap ‘floor’ switch adjustments) to ensure that they are not bent or loose.

Inspect Cam Followers for wear and ensure that they properly slide in contact with guide slots. Lubricate track and guides as required with a food-grade grease or a synthetic Teflon grease.

Lubricate adjusting lead screws as required with a food-grade grease or a synthetic Teflon grease.

Inspect Front and Rear Minor Flap Folders. Replace if bent or worn.

Remove the drive belts. The drive and idle pulleys should be inspected for bearing wear and pulley damage. Remove any dirt build-up before drive belts are re-installed. Refer to Service and Maintenance Procedures.

Check the tension of the Uni-Drive side-belt chain drive. Note: Proper tension is achieved when the horizontal sag in the chain measures between 1/8” and 1/4” with the drive belts in a fully opened position and runs without excessive noise. Refer to Service and Maintenance Procedures.

Check for any loose or missing fasteners.
