Overview
Use the following instructions to set up the DEKKA 500 to seal a particular case size with adjustments for closed height (H), bottom flaps (M), case width (D1 and D2), case length (C) and case flat width (A).
TIP 1: It is best to open up the adjustments first to fully clear the height and width of the case.
TIP 2: Complete adjustments E and M before performing adjustment A.
WARNING
Disconnect machine electrical and compressed air before making any machine adjustments.
Instructions
Case Height Adjustment (E)
This adjusts the TOP PLATE to the height (E) of the partially closed case. This also affects the height of the SUPPORT BAR which helps to keep the case blanks upright in the CASE BLANK TRAY.
- Use the scale on the outer frame to measure your case.
- Locate the Dimension (E) hand wheel.
- Turn the hand wheel to adjust the pointer along the scale to the measured height.
This adjustment has a dual function:
a. Supporting case blanks in the CASE BLANK TRAY.
b. Supporting the case during case sealing with the TOP PLATE.
Case Bottom Flap Adjustment (M)
This adjusts the height of the CASE BLANK TRAY to the height of the bottom minor flaps of the case blank.
- Use the scale on the outer frame to measure your case.
- Locate the Dimension (M) hand wheel.
- Turn the hand wheel to align the 'M' arrow label to the measured height of the bottom minor flap.
Case Width Adjustment (D1)
This adjusts the position of the SUCTION CUP ASSEMBLY to the case width.
- Use the scale on the outer frame to measure your case.
- Locate the Dimension (D1) hand wheel.
- Move the SUCTION CUP ASSEMBLY to the position closest to the Dimension (D1) hand wheel.
- Turn the hand wheel to adjust the pointer along the scale to the measured width.
Case Width Adjustment (D2)
This adjusts the spacing between the conveyor belts to the case width.
- Use the scale on the outer frame to measure your case.
- Locate the Dimension (D2) hand wheel.
- Turn the hand wheel to adjust the pointer along the scale to the measured width.
Alternative Method:
- Move the conveyor belts apart until they are wider than the case.
- Adjust the conveyor belts back in until they lightly contact the case sides.
- Remove the case and wind the belts in by a further oneāhalf turn. This usually moves the conveyor to the correct position for a good grip on the case.
NOTE: Depending on case fill, weight, dimensional variations, and conveyor belt wear, it may be necessary to make minor adjustments to the settings to ensure best performance.
Case Length Adjustment (C)
This adjusts the position of the CASE PUSHER AND MINOR FLAP FOLDER ASSEMBLY to the case length.
- Use the scale on the outer frame to measure your case.
- Locate the Dimension (C) hand wheel.
- Turn the hand wheel to adjust the pointer along the scale to the measured length.
Case Flat Width Adjustment (A)
This adjusts the width of the CASE BLANK TRAY to the width of the case blanks.
- Complete adjustment (E) and (M) before performing this adjustment.
- Locate the Dimension (A) hand wheel.
- Using a case blank, turn the hand wheel until the guides gently support the sides of the case blank. Once adjusted, the case blank should rest freely at the end of the tray.
NOTE: This adjustment does not have a reference scale.
