Policy
In order to further increase stability caused by unstable power, the PFC circuit should be disabled within the FCT software settings.
When to Disable
When troubleshooting any servo drive faults on Wexxar machines, Service Technicians should confirm that the PFC circuit is OFF(unchecked) before enabling or restarting the drive.
How to Disable
The PFC setting can be found on the “Controller” page of your FCT program.
Once online with the drive, click “Controller” in the workspace, and make sure the PFC option is UNCHECKED.
Restart Drive
Once the PFC is confirmed to be OFF (unchecked), restart the drive.
If there is still a drive failure, contact Wexxar and arrange for a new drive to be sent, and return the failed drive to Wexxar (where it will be returned to FESTO).
Additional Information
The PFC circuit is mainly required for 120VAC applications, where the additional power boost (correction) is required.
Currently (Sept 16, 2011) all machines are now being shipped with the PFC off. Still, confirming the PFC “off” status is an important safeguard for all drive fault troubleshooting.
